I graduated summa cum laude from Western Kentucky University in May 2001 with my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I received my Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a Literacy endorsement from WKU in December 2004. This is my 5th year teaching a kindergarten/1st grade class at Cox's Creek Elementary School.
I have always wanted to be a teacher, ever since I can remember! I used to play school with my sister and I loved being the teacher! I am very excited about finally being a teacher and having my own classroom of students to teach!
God is a huge part of my life--without Him, I do not know where I would be. I am a Christian and it is the best decision I have ever made. God is the one who will always be there for me and will never let me down. Before moving, I was involved with the Baptist Student Union at WKU. I am a member of Parkway Baptist Church in Bardstown, Kentucky.
My family is very important to me. They have always been a source of love and support for me and I am very thankful that I have been blessed with such a wonderful family. We are very close and I know that I can always turn to them if I ever need anything. Going to college and talking to others who don't have the same support that I do really helped me realize how truly lucky I am.
Corey, my husband, is everything to me. It amazes me how God caused my path and Corey's path to intersect at exactly the right time. We became friends in high school, dated for 4 years, and got married in December of 2000. We are having a great time together and know that this is exactly where our lives should be right now. We had our first child, Jenna Leigh, on March 7, 2003 and our second child, Jillian Lara, on July 25, 2005. We love being the parents of two beautiful girls!
Friends are, of course, very special to me also. I have made many friends in different places over the years and have kept in touch with several of them. There are some friends that I have been in contact with, but haven't seen since the 7th grade!
Well, this is
my life...it's a very busy one, but I love it!
